This article is talking about the franchise of big ticket gaming consoles. They argue that they may not last because the price fo these consoles. Why buy a gaming console for $ 500 when you can buy something cheaper with the same qualitiy. The main buyers are hard core gamers in thier thirty something year olds, who grew up with the gaming consoles over the years. We are in the age of newer technolgical advancements, with androids and smart phones flooding the market. More kids ask for Iphones now then gaming consoles.
I agree with the article because more and more people are moving from high powered consoles to portable high powered consoles. The compare what they can buy with the money they use for the console. The are still the fans who love and live for the game but others are moving on. People are not as willing to buy the expensive consoles as they did before.
You are right...people aren't as willing to dish out hundreds of dollar and 70 bucks each time for a new game. Good point.
